Francys Saleh is a fashion researcher, educator, and creative process specialist whose career has been dedicated to exploring the relationships between culture, research, craftsmanship, and technical expertise in fashion design.

​

For more than two decades, she has combined experience in the fashion industry, higher education, and academic research, developing her own methodology that integrates cultural repertoire, technical mastery, and the development of an authentic creative identity. Her work is grounded in the belief that creativity is not merely the result of inspiration, but rather of research, observation, experimentation, and the transmission of craftsmanship.

She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the Graduate Program in Social Policy and Human Rights at the Catholic University of Pelotas (UCPel), Brazil, where her research focuses on sustainability, environmental responsibility, and global fashion supply chains. As part of her international doctoral studies, she is conducting research at the University of Salento, Italy, expanding her work on ecological constitutionalism, sustainability, and public policies applied to global production systems.

Francys holds a Master's degree in Design from UniRitter, a postgraduate specialization in International Business from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), and a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Technology and Style from the University of Caxias do Sul (UCS). She also completed an academic exchange in Fashion Design and Marketing at the University of Minho, Portugal.

Within the fashion industry, she has worked in research, product development, and design for leading Brazilian companies such as Grendene and Dakota, contributing to collection development and innovation processes.

​

As an independent designer, she was invited to showcase her work at Première Vision Paris as part of the Jeune Créateurs exhibition, dedicated to emerging international designers, where she presented a footwear collection developed using exotic leathers.

​

In academia, she taught for ten years in the Fashion Design program at the Catholic University of Pelotas, delivering courses in fashion research, collection development, moulage, fashion design, fashion illustration, and production management. She also teaches in postgraduate programs at the University of Caxias do Sul (UCS) and UniSenai Santa Catarina.

In 2020, she created Secrets of French Moulage, an educational program that has trained thousands of students in Brazil and abroad, establishing her as one of Brazil's leading authorities in French three-dimensional draping techniques.

 

In 2022, she joined the faculty of Domestika, one of the world's largest online learning platforms for creative professionals, where she teaches the course Pattern Making: Create a Custom Dress Using the Moulage Technique, extending the international reach of her educational methodology.

Her work also encompasses trend forecasting and creative intelligence. She currently represents Promostyl in Brazil, the pioneering French trend forecasting agency renowned for its research and publications serving the global fashion industry.

Alongside her academic and professional activities, Francys maintains an ongoing research and publishing project through her blog, where she writes about fashion culture, creative processes, cultural heritage, study travel, specialized literature, and craftsmanship. Her personal library contains more than 500 books dedicated exclusively to fashion, providing the intellectual foundation for her research and educational programs.

Today, she develops educational programs, mentoring initiatives, and international study immersions that connect research, culture, technical excellence, and craftsmanship. Her mission is to educate professionals capable of building an authentic creative language grounded in rigorous research, technical excellence, and an understanding of fashion as a cultural expression.
